Welcome! This site is a work in progress, so bear with me while I finish the various pages. Check back often to see what's new.

The Montessori method of education is rapidly growing in popularity. Even as people are becoming more aware that Montessori schools exist, a very common question is 'What is Montessori?' The short answer is that it is a method of education which is child-led, stresses self-sufficiency, and respect for others. The children learn by doing. There are a great many more aspects of Montessori, however. This website is intended as an introduction to Montessori philosophy. As a Montessori teacher and mother, I feel the need to share this information with other parents. Montessori is for all children, however, with the high cost of Montessori education, it is unfortunately prohibitively expensive for many families. Read on if:

  • You are sending your children to a traditional school, but would like to enrich their experience
  • You are interested in homeschooling your children for the pre-school years or longer and would like to incorporate Montessori
  • You are sending your children to a Montessori school and would like to extend this wonderful philosophy to your home life
  • You just want to know more!

Montessori is more than an academic program. It is a whole approach to life, which is one of respect, compassion and love. At a time when children are developing their personalities, Montessori teaches love and respect for all living things, for all kinds of people all around the world. Children learn to love and respect the differences in different cultures.
